Cybersecurity Month October

During cybersecurity month in October, applications for this investment grant can be submitted from Oct. 2 to Nov. 1, 2023, until 5 p.m. The available grant budget for “My Cyber Resilient Case” is €300,000, and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis until the budget is exhausted.

Why this grant?

Surveys by the DTC and CBS show that small businesses are still not taking sufficient measures. While practical cyber security education helps, it does not yet spur every business owner to action. Can removing financial obstacles encourage small business owners to take cybersecurity measures? This is the purpose of the pilot grant scheme called “My Cyber Resilient Case,” initiated by the Digital Trust Center (DTC), part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate. The DTC has allocated €300,000 for this pilot. After evaluation, the DTC will decide on continuation and possibly an increased budget for the grant module.

“My Cyber Resilient Business” subsidizes micro and small businesses to purchase and implement critical cyber resilience measures. These measures include setting up backups, using a password manager and conducting a risk assessment. The grant covers 50% of the costs charged by an IT service provider, up to a maximum of €1,250 per applicant. Companies can take advantage of this subsidy scheme once.

"Entrepreneurs are busy doing business. Cybersecurity is often not at the top of the priority list. It is often mistakenly thought that small business owners are not targets, because the reality is different. We would like to encourage small business owners to take action now and quickly implement key cyber measures. Because with a few simple interventions, you can really reduce the chances of becoming the next victim. Let this grant be the final push to take action today."
